Located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, The Lethbridge Astronomy Society is comprised of enthusiastic members from all walks of life, eager to study and share their love of the night sky, astronomy and space science. The mandate of the society is to facilitate awareness of astronomical topics by establishing and maintaining a resource center, observatory and library and by creating and running various educational programs and opportunities for the citizens of Lethbridge and area.
The Oldman River Observatory is one of the best equipped amateur astronomy facilites in Canada. Our main building includes an equipment room with several portable telescopes, a library with over 600 titles, a lounge area and kitchen and a presentation room that can seat up to forty people. Just outside the main building is a viewing platform for our portable scopes and outdoor presentations.
