I've always been a fan of storm watching from being a little kid. I've got a D7200 and plenty of lens for it and have thought about doing this several times... but never got around to it. I've grabbed a few "good" ones with the iPhone.
It's easy It's easy to do just grab a wide angle lens. Start with an F stop around 16 about 45 secand whatever drops you catch. Back the F stop down depending on how bright it is.
