I've always been a fan of storm watching from being a little kid. I've got a D7200 and plenty of lens for it and have thought about doing this several times... but never got around to it. I've grabbed a few "good" ones with the iPhone.

It's easy It's easy to do just grab a wide angle lens. Start with an F stop around 16 about 45 secand whatever drops you catch. Back the F stop down depending on how bright it is.

Grabbed this with my iPhone a while back as I was responding to a power outage at a local clinic I help with. This was about 9PM at night.

Wow that's quite a storm heading in your direction

That was a few months ago... and yep, it ended up being a real interesting one.. several areas got some pretty good hail damage.

That's where I was headed, down to the clinic to power down some systems to prevent any DB corruptions, which happened in the past with a power loss.
