Hey Tracy. Latest version of the software has WiFi 6 support. I just downloaded it. Also I have an Argon case on my Pi4 which adds a M2 connector so I have 256 Gig SSD on it currently with Astroberry. I'm going to replace that with StellarMate.
The latest version of StellarMate X OS does use v6.2 of the kernel. This is not the RPi4 version of SM. Linux 6.2.14-060214-generic #202305010032 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
The RPi4 version is shipping with Linux 6.1.21-v8+ #1642 SMP PREEMPT aarch64 GNU/Linux.
The BeeLink U59 detects the chipset, but there are no active drivers for it.
The one thing I found with newer versions of StellarMate OS X I could not install the drivers for the USB adapter and the built in did not work.
Doing a forced upgrade of the kernel on the BeeLink U59 did enable the internal WiFi.
The RPi4 is using the same chipset it has been AFAIK.
Yep, but not all WiFi devices are necessarily supported in an Intel based configuration. The RPi4/5 ships with one standard chip and the ARM branch of Linux for the RPi only has to worry about supporting that one chipset. The intel based PCs can use RealTek, Intel, MediaTek and others.
Even a fresh install (which has basically the same history release info) of Stellarmate X OS on my U59 did not support the chipset (although it was detected), even though they state they support WiFi 6. Until the kernel was updated to the 6.5 branch and the associated modules & headers installed it was not shown as a valid device for use.
