Meteor Perseid Meteor shower

The meteor shower will peak on August 12-13. This should be a good show as it will be a new moon and the skies will be dark.
You should be looking for shooting stars a few hours after twilight until dawn on the days surrounding the peak period.

Well, I was unable to view during the peak period due to a heavy cloud cover. I did get to go out tonight and the average was about 20 visible for me per hour. I have a LOT of ambient light around (my city is mainly Bortle class 4 but my neighborhood is nearer 5 due to all the ambient lighting). It was fun, but not near as impressive as some I've seen - especially since one of my jobs kept me up during the dark hours and outside.
