This site makes HEAVY use of prefixes for various areas. This allows to us to minimize the number of topic areas downward. It further allows our users to filter based upon the specific prefixes. In some areas you may be required to use a prefix.. in others, a default one is assigned. We do ask that you utilize the prefix system as there are strong benefits to it.
If you go to post in an area, and you don't see similar to this
then it means that prefixes are not used in that area. If you see the above or even a default one, prefixes are in use for that area.
As an example of this, if you wanted to see ONLY posts that are related to a Celestron telescope in the
The other option is if you are in the area listing all the topics, you can simply click on the prefix you are interested in and the system will automatically filter out anything other than that prefix for you.

This is somewhat different than many other sites do.. but it also makes it so it is easier to filter other stuff out without having to go to multiple forum nodes, and it also makes it so that the user may even find something of interest in a combined area that they may not normally have pursued, since with the topics split they may not go into that one area.
